As a kid, I was fascinated by technology, especially interested in how things were made. If I wasn’t building models, I was probably taking apart appliances (more often than not I wouldn’t be able to put them back together). I really enjoyed discovering and understanding the creative innovations and how they were manufactured. It was this curiosity in design and manufacturing that led me to study Product Design Engineering at University followed by a PhD in Sustainable Manufacturing in Toys.
During my research career, I worked closely with industrial partners to create innovative and sustainable solutions that meet the triple bottom line. During this time, I was able to develop my skills in manufacturing simulations – there are not many feelings that can top successfully optimising a production lines or systems! Lean manufacturing is really a way of life.
I’ve been fortunate enough to start a career with TBAT which satisfies my curiosity, as I get to learn about the innovative solutions of UK companies from a plethora of industries. I’m proud to be part of a team that has a proven record in helping companies to create inventive products while reducing their R&D costs.
Outside of work, I have a ukulele addiction as well as a keen interest in playing boardgames.
